Breaks between questions
What a break is for
A long quiz loses visitors in the middle. A break is a short screen shown between two questions to win back attention and give rhythm: "Great, the money part is done, on to the social side!", "3 more questions and your profile is ready", "68% of people answered like you".
A break is not a question: it doesn't count in "Question 4 / 10", in the progress bar, in the profile or score, or in what is sent to Systeme.io or GoHighLevel.
Adding one
In the quiz editor, Create tab, between two questions, click Add a break here. The break shows as the visitor will see it, and you edit everything directly on it:
- the type: Encouragement, New topic, Statistic or Result teaser;
- the animation: Fade, Bounce, Confetti or Floating shapes;
- the image or GIF: exactly like a question image (upload, GIF button, size slider);
- the title, the text and the button text. Keep it short and punchy. The button holds up to 60 characters (a counter shows below it). The title and text have no limit that gets in the way: the editor warns you past 80 and 300 characters, without cutting anything.
Add as many as you like, one per slot. To remove one: Remove the break. It uses your quiz's colors, font and button shape.
Good to know:
- there is never a break after the last question: at that point the visitor is waiting for their result;
- a break shows once per visit: going back and forward again doesn't show it twice;
- the break follows its question: move the question and the break moves with it, delete it and the break goes too.
The Statistic break
It shows the real share of people who made the same choice as the visitor on the question just before. Click Insert the percentage to place the number in the text.
- It only works after a single-choice question. The editor warns you otherwise.
- The number only shows once that question has 30 answers. Below that, the break is skipped: no number is ever made up.
- When you test YOUR quiz while logged in to your Tiquiz account, you still see this break, with an example number and a note saying so. Your visitors only see it from 30 answers.
Letting the AI write them
- New quiz: from 7 questions, AI generation adds 2 or 3 breaks on its own.
- Existing quiz: on a quiz with 7+ questions and no break, a New: breaks between questions banner offers Suggest breaks. Nothing is saved until you click Save.
The AI never picks a GIF for you: it suggests a search idea, and the GIF button opens already filtered on it.
Knowing whether breaks really help
Under any break, tick Measure the effect on completion (A/B test). Half of your visitors see the breaks, the other half don't. The result shows in the Results tab, Effect of the breaks between questions block.
You always see your own breaks when you test your quiz logged in to your account: the test never puts you in the "without" group, and your own runs are not counted.
Tiquiz draws no conclusion before 100 starts in each group: a gap on fewer people can be pure chance. The setting applies to every break of the quiz.
