Layout: alignment, columns, sizes

Three levels, strongest first

This is the key to not fighting the editor. Three places can decide alignment, and the most specific always wins:

  1. The field: alignment you set by hand inside a text, with the alignment buttons.
  2. The question: a setting that applies to that question only.
  3. The quiz: the general setting, applied to anything that hasn't spoken up.

By default the question and the field don't speak up: everything follows the quiz setting. The day you align a field by hand, that field becomes a permanent exception.

Straightening everything back

This is what makes people think "the general setting doesn't work": it does, but every hand-placed exception outranks it.

The "Realign everything on this setting" button clears the exceptions, on questions and inside texts. Your bold, colours and sizes are kept, only alignment is cleared.

That is what lets you apply a new setting to a quiz that is already live without rebuilding it.

List or columns

Same logic for answers: a quiz setting that a question can override.

  • Auto: Tiquiz decides based on how many answers there are.
  • List: one answer per line, always.
  • Columns: two columns on desktop.

On mobile it is always one column whatever the setting: two columns on a phone are not readable.

Text size

The size picker acts on the whole field, not on the selected word. If it seems to do nothing, click a size a second time: the field repairs itself.

Images

An answer image keeps its own shape. A tall photo stays tall, a wide screenshot stays wide. Nothing is cropped, so nothing is cut off.

Expected consequence: two photos of different shapes give two cards of different heights.

The logo

The logo is independent from the title: you can align it left, centre or right and set its width, even with a title aligned differently. By default it follows the title.
