Follow-up emails: consent, what goes out with and without it
The rule, in one sentence
Without consent, only email 1 goes out: the one that gives the lead the result they just asked for. The following emails (the tip, what holds them back, the offer...) only go to leads who ticked the consent box on your form.
That's the most careful reading of the GDPR: marketing emails only go to someone who agreed to them.
Where the box is set
The consent box is part of your quiz's capture form, in the Create tab. Its text can be edited like the rest of the form: say clearly what the person agrees to.
If your form doesn't show the box, the Emails tab warns you that only email 1, the one with their result, will go out. Turn the box back on in the Create tab to send the whole sequence.
What you see in Tracking
In the Tracking tab, a lead who didn't tick the box shows "Email 1 received, no consent for the rest". Their sequence is over.
What consent doesn't change
- The lead still reaches your tool (Systeme.io, GoHighLevel, webhook) with their tags.
- Email 1 always goes out: the person asked for their result.
- Someone who unsubscribes gets nothing more, even if they had ticked the box.
- The end-of-sequence tag isn't added for a lead who stopped at email 1.
