Sending your follow-up emails from your own domain

What it changes

By default, your follow-up emails go out under your name from a shared Tiquiz address (@mail.tiquiz.fr). With your domain, they go out from your own address, for example [email protected]:

  • your leads see YOUR address and recognize you straight away;
  • your sending reputation is yours, no longer shared with every account using the Tiquiz address;
  • that reputation is what counts for landing in the inbox rather than in spam.

It's included in paid plans (Monthly, Yearly, Plus, lifetime access). On Free, your emails go out from the shared address.

It doesn't break anything you already have

Systeme.io, your mailbox, your other tools: nothing moves. You'll add new DNS records and change none. Your domain's root and its SPF aren't touched (the Tiquiz SPF lives on a separate subdomain), and an existing DMARC record is never replaced.

Don't delete or replace anything that already exists in your DNS zone.

Step 1: enter your address

  1. Open a quiz, Emails tab, then click change on the Sender line.
  2. My domain tab.
  3. In The address that will send your emails, type an address on a domain you own ([email protected]).
  4. Click Connect this domain.

Tiquiz then lists the records to add: three CNAME, one MX, one TXT, and a "recommended" DMARC if your domain doesn't have one yet.

Step 2: add the records at your DNS provider

  1. Open your domain's DNS settings (the "DNS zone"), where you manage your domain, often where you bought it. If Tiquiz recognizes your provider, it names it, with an Open my DNS link when possible.
  2. For each line, click "Add record" and pick the type shown (CNAME, MX or TXT).
  3. Paste the name into the Name (or Host) field, then the value into the Value (or Target) field. The Copy button avoids typos. For the MX, set priority 10.
  4. Save.

Short name or full name? Tiquiz writes the name without your domain, as most providers expect. If yours wants the full name, add ".yoursite.com" at the end (with your domain).

On Cloudflare, set the cloud to grey (DNS only) on the three CNAME records, or verification fails.

Step 3: check

Come back to the My domain tab and click Check now. It usually takes a few minutes, sometimes up to 48 hours. No need to wait in front of the screen: Tiquiz checks again on its own.

While you wait, nothing is lost: your emails keep going out from the shared address, under your name. If a record is removed later, they switch back on their own.

A gentle start

A new domain starts with 100 emails on day one, then twice as many each day, so inbox providers learn to trust you. Each lead's email 1 always goes out.

Changing or removing your domain

  • Change address: another address on the same domain (contact@ instead of hello@) changes without touching your DNS. An address on another domain needs new records.
  • Remove this domain: your emails go back to the shared Tiquiz address. You can reconnect it later.

Why Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo are refused

Those addresses belong to the email providers, not to you: they forbid other services from sending in their name. You need a domain you own.
